UPTAC 2025 Counselling Eligibility

UPTAC 2025 Uttar Pradesh Technical Admission Counselling is a counselling process being conducted for admission in undergraduate engineering, pharmacy, architecture, management, and other technical courses in colleges of Dr A. P. J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Lucknow. To participate in UPTAC 2025, candidates are required to satisfy the eligibility criteria specified for the course/category they wish to pursue. The eligibility criteria are as per different programmes and categories. This is being done to ensure a just and equitable opportunity for all candidates. Here are the detailed eligibility criteria for various streams of UPTAC 2025.

Important Instructions for Eligibility

  • Candidates must submit their mark sheet of the qualifying examination proving they have passed. At the time of registration, no Repeat-in-Theory/Compartment should remain uncleared in the subjects required for eligibility.
  • A pass in the qualifying examination may be considered with or without grace marks, provided there are no compartments in relevant subjects.
  • For candidates with letter grades instead of percentage scores, a certified percentage conversion formula from the awarding Board/University is mandatory.

Special Eligibility Conditions

  • For MBA/MCA Admissions: Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree of at least 3 years from a recognized institution.
  • For B.Tech Lateral Entry (B.Sc. Candidates): Candidates must clear Engineering Graphics/Engineering Drawing/Engineering Mechanics (as applicable in the University curriculum) along with their second-year subjects.

NRI Quota Eligibility 

NRI candidates who meet the minimum eligibility criteria can get direct admission on 5% seats in State-funded and Private Institutions in Uttar Pradesh (except MBA/MCA). For B.Arch, NATA 2024 qualification is mandatory.

FN/PIO/CIWGC Eligibility

Candidates under these categories must:

  • Have passed the qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics equivalent to 10+2 standards as recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
  • Submit a copy of their passport or equivalent proof of nationality.

Direct Admission to Private Institutions

  • Private institutions may fill 15% of their seats through Management/NRI quota at the institute level. These seats must be advertised publicly, giving candidates at least one week to apply.
  • Admission will be strictly based on merit and adherence to eligibility guidelines.

Direct Admission to Second Year (Lateral Entry)

  • After the completion of counselling, vacant seats in B.Tech/B.Pharma/MCA courses can be filled through direct admission at the institute level. Priority will be given to qualified CUET-UG 2024 candidates. Remaining seats will be filled based on qualifying examination marks with a minimum of 45% (40% for SC/ST) required.
  • Institutions must advertise available seats in two leading newspapers and on their official website.
