Uttar Pradesh Technical Admission Counselling (UPTAC) 2025 is the online counselling process organized by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) for Uttar Pradesh admission to various technical undergraduate and postgraduate courses like B.Tech, B.Arch, MBA, MCA, and others. UPTAC 2025 mainly takes JEE Main scores into account for B.Tech admissions, with CUET UG and non-JEE candidates given opportunities through special counselling rounds.
Registration for B.Tech counselling will remain open between 27th May 2025 and 30th June 2025 for both the JEE and Non-JEE/CUET UG candidates. But it is to be noted that seat allotment up to Round 4, which forms the bulk of the counselling rounds, will be reserved for JEE Main candidates only. Candidates applying through CUET UG will have their schedule released after CUET UG results are declared.

- Rs.1000 counselling fee is only to be paid at initial registration and special round in case of joining separately. Round 2–4, Sliding do not involve payment of counselling fee.
- Counselling Fee is non-refundable.
- Seat Acceptance Fee will be adjustable against tuition fee at the time of admission.
- Seat acceptance fee can be partially or completely forfeited in case of withdrawal or failure to join as per UPTAC rules.
- Participants of the special round have to pay the counselling fee once more, even if they were registered in previous rounds.

Refund Rules for Counselling and Seat Acceptance Fees
There are some rules with respect to refund pilicies and student must be aware of that to understand the refund policies of the UPTAC 2025 counselling process so that they can make decisions accordingly. The following is a detailed account:
1. Counselling Registration Fee
Counselling registration fee of Rs. 1,000 will not be refunded under any condition, even in case of withdrawal of a candidate from the counselling process or failure to secure a seat allotment.
2. Seat Acceptance Fee
The fee for acceptance of the seat is refundable with deductions against withdrawal timing:
Withdrawal After Round 1:
If a candidates withdraw a seat after 1st round of counselling then for General/OBC Candidates the Refund of Rs.15,000 (Rs.5,000 deduction) will be initiated and for SC/ST Candidates the Refund of Rs.9,000 (Rs.3,000 deduction) will be initiated.
Withdrawal After Round 2:
If a candidates withdraw a seat after 2nd round of counselling then for General/OBC Candidates the Refund of Rs.10,000 (Rs.10,000 deduction) will be initiated and for SC/ST Candidates the Refund of Rs.6,000 (Rs.6,000 deduction) will be initiated.
Withdrawal After Round 3 or Later:
If a candidates withdraw a seat after 3rd round of counselling or non-appearance at the assigned institute then no refund will be made.
3. Withdrawal Process
Candidates who want to withdraw their seats should do so through the official UPTAC website within the prescribed deadlines.
Refunds will be made through the original payment channel once counselling is over.
