Registration and Document Upload

The first step for applicants is to sign up on the website https://uptac.admissions.nic.in. Applicants have to make a payment of Rs. 1000 as a non-refundable registration fee. After completing registration, they have to upload all required documents for scrutiny by the sanctioned committee of certificate verification. After the process of verification is complete, candidates will get a confirmation message either SMS or email.

 Choice Filling and Seat Allotment

Once the documents have been successfully verified online, candidates can select their desired colleges and courses.  The system will allot seats based on their rank, category, and availability.  The merit results will be available on the official website.

Payment of Seat Acceptance Fee and Confirmation

After seat allotment, candidates must pay the seat acceptance fee to confirm their seat. The fees are as follows:

CategorySeat Acceptance Fee
General/OBCRs. 20,000
SC/STRs. 12,000

Candidates can choose between the following options:

  • Freeze: The candidate accepts the allotted seat and does not wish to participate in further rounds.
  • Float: The candidate accepts the seat but is willing to upgrade if a better option becomes available.

If candidates fail to pay the acceptance fee, their seat will be canceled, and they will be disqualified from further participation.

Round-Wise Counselling Process

The UPTAC counselling process includes multiple rounds:

Round 1 (R-1)

  • After seat allotment, candidates can select the Freeze or Float option.

  • Candidates from Round 1 who chose the Float option or were not allotted a seat can modify their choices.

  • Candidates who withdrew from earlier rounds or failed to pay the seat acceptance fee are ineligible.
  • New candidates who registered in this phase can fill their choices.

Round 4 (R-4)
